Let me be Frank

Our individualised behaviour is often practiced, either by inheritance or learned habits. 

 

As a female researching Frank Abagnale’s con artist abilities, I feel it personally speaks to women who start taking on leadership roles and the pitfalls of certain learned behaviours needed in order to fit into a male dominated business climate.

 

MIRROR EXERCISE: practice makes perfect

- an everyday bathroom

- a large mirror

- a woman getting ready for her day at the office

 

A woman is seen standing in her bathroom. She seems to be on her way to work. Over a 3 minute span, she will try to practice different facial expressions, postures, language and reactions she thinks she will need to succeed in her day. The rate and combination of expressions, however, take on a life of their own and become the definition of con artistry.
